Yes, it’s a fried iPhone 4. Apparently a customer brought the phone into the store to try and get help with it, although it’s pretty evident that the phone is unrepairable. It’s the first time our guy has seen this happen, but the brand new iPhone 4 caught on fire while being hooked up to a computer using the Apple USB cable that accompanied the device.
There's been a lot of fuss about the iPhone 4's Gorilla Glass "custom glass" comparable in strength to sapphire crystal but 30 times harder than plastic. Sounds incredible, right ? But make no mistake, that front glass panel will still break if dropped. Ok, it took four deliberate attempts to accomplish what you see but it still happened. Bottom line : like any hand phones, you'll have to worry about more than just scratches.
The iPhone 4 is now boxier, with the rear side now flat, instead of rounded. The screen is with the same size, but with higher resolution 640x960 pixels. The other new stuff includes a front-facing video call camera, 5MP main camera lens with LED flash and 720p HD video recording, Micro-SIM slot, instead of ordinary SIM and a secondary mic for noise-cancellation.
