As Dubai prepares to unveil the RM 6.8 Billion Meydan racetrack tonight, it will see unparalleled levels of luxury, customer comfort and racing technology but only to miss the booze and the bookies (both are illegal in the UAE). However, the sport of kings it seems has finally got the royal treatment that has never been seen before. The luxurious Meydan complex, big enough to park 22 Boeing 747 jumbo jets side-by-side, includes a five-star hotel, 10 restaurants, a gigantic IMAX theater and a sun-bathed pool deck will accommodate 60,000 race fans and will be home to the $10 million (RM 34.2 Million) Dubai World Cup on March 27.
Oh, and the racegoers, who thought it’s such a waste of money without booze, you can take a seat in one of the 10 world-class restaurants on course and order alcoholic beverages.
