Herman Miller and Steelcase rule the roost for office chairs, but a gem-studded chair like this “Viva” luxury chair by Pietro Lovato for the firm Moving, clearly belongs to the lavish offices of the oil-rich sheiks and the likes of Roman Abramovich. We have earlier told you about the Viva jewel chair back when it was unveiled at the Luxury and Yachts Show in 2008, but if you missed it then, now is your chance to ogle at this most expensive office chair, upholstered in crocodile leather, and embellished with diamonds and rubies and solid gold with a price tag of approx. $273,080 (RM 921,000).The chair is plated with 24Kt gold including the castor supports, the tension adjustment and the armrests. The armrests are further inlaid with 222 diamonds at 7,40 cts and topped with emeralds. The luxury frame also boasts ergonomic comforts, including a multi-block tilting mechanism with five locking positions, anti-shock, a gas spring with shock-absorber to protect the spine by the counter stroke and a die-cast chromed aluminum base with big rubber castors. The chair did the rounds once again at the Luxury and Yachts Show at the Verona fair 2010.
While the Viva luxury chair is for the classes, the company even has a catalog designed for the masses featuring a wide range of selection including the basic Viva chair, so take your pick from the gallery. But if you are looking for something close to the Viva luxury chair, then the gold plated chair designed by Hadi Teherani is the second option on the list of most expensive office chairs with its ornate make and a price tag of $68,245 (RM 230,000).
